» Call for Nominations for election to the Killie Trust Board |
|
9th November 2009 |
This has been another busy year for us, some of our highlights include:
- The Fifty For The Future Campaign raising money to support youth development at Rugby Park.
- Killie Trust Community Bursary funding work in the local community.
- A highly successful 80s night in the Park Hotel.
- Fans team Vs the Killie Old Crocks at the Killie festival
In line with our constitution, I am now seeking nominations for election to the Trust Board. This is an opportunity for all members to participate in the running of the Trust and to help decide our future direction. Current board members would be happy to tell you about time commitments and skills required. There is also guidance available from Supporters Direct. We are looking for a wide range of skills and experiences so please do not think that you have nothing to offer. Alternatively have a look on the Trust website for existing vacancies. Not all positions require membership of the board but are vital to the success of our Trust.
One of our key aims is to ensure that the election process is totally transparent and is "free and fair" for all. For further details of our election procedures please click here or ask at the trust desk. You may feel that the timescales are a little tight this year; this is in order that we hold the Trust AGM before the club hold its AGM. If you have any concerns or complaints about the election process, please do not hesitate to contact our election scrutineer in writing at the address on the nomination form.
This year we have four board members who must stand down. We also have a further 11 vacancies we would like to fill, therefore if you wish to put your name forward as a candidate then this is your opportunity. All you need to do is to complete the nomination form and send it to the election scrutineer at the address on the form, by the deadline date of Thursday 19th November 2009.
In order to qualify as a candidate you must have your form signed by 3 other adult members of the Trust and you should also complete the candidate statement on the form (to a maximum of 200 words). This allows you to state why you think you should be elected to the Committee and more importantly allows you to try and persuade others to vote for you as the statements will be issued to all members along with the ballot papers and published on the Trust website.
Even if you are standing for election yourself, you are still free to propose other members nominations that wish to stand as candidates.
As a member of the Trust, you are entitled to be notified of the results of the elections. We are proposing to not only announce these at the AGM, but also publish them on our website, e-mail them to those members who have supplied us with an e-mail address, and seek to have the results published in either the Killie FC match programme, or the Kilmarnock Standard.
In order to save postage costs, we do not intend to send every member the results by mail. However, if you still wish to receive the results in this way, regardless of whether or not you are standing for election, please fill in the "Send me the election results by post please" section on the nomination form and post it to the PO Box,.
Yours sincerely,
Andrew Millar
