1st March 2004
ArabTRUST Dundee United Football Club today announced the appointment of a representative from ArabTRUST - the Dundee United Supporters' Trust - as an Associate Director of the club.

The appointment follows the Trust's recent purchase of 510 shares in the club, establishing it as one of the top ten shareholders in Dundee United FC.

In only thirteen months of business since its launch in February 2003, ArabTRUST has attracted almost 500 members, invested in the community and now become a major shareholder in the club.

The Trust's Chaiman, Mike Barile, was selected by the Trust membership from three possible candidates, to be the first occupant of the Associate Director position.  Mike will be able to convey the views of the Trust members to the Dundee United boardroom in an official capacity, therefore achieving one of the Trust's main objectives of allowing ordinary fans to have a say in the decision-making process within the club.

This proves that a club does not have to be on the verge of extinction for a Supporters' Trust to achieve representation on the club's board and it can even be achieved with a small membership.  For further details, visit the ArabTRUST website.
