» The Jags' Trust
1st December 2003
On Saturday 22nd August 1998, in the wake of the Save The Jags campaign where Partick Thistle FC had been at the lowest point in its history, The Jags' Trust was formed.  This was in no way a remarkable event in itself, but the then chairperson of the Trust, Maggie Forsyth, then took a seat on the board of Partick Thistle FC Ltd, and did so with the backing of one of the largest shareholdings in the club.

The £125,000 raised from the Save The Jags campaign was translated into shares, so each member of the Trust became a part-owner of 1,000,000 shares in the club, and a fans' received representation on the club's board.

A huge effort was required to raise enough money to save the Jags, and the Trust is part of that continuing effort and now plays an important part in the future running of Partick Thistle FC.

For the first time ever, a Scottish League club had a fans' representative on the board, and the massive shareholding held by The Jags' Trust makes it a voice that cannot be ignored.

Five years have passed since the constitution of The Jags' Trust and to this day it continues to raise funds to support the club, in ways that are complimentary to other Thistle related organisations.

This goes to show that when supporters unite, they can achieve their aim and get the rewards they deserve for their efforts.  :For more details, visit The Jags' Trust webpage.
